As promised, here is the first review of one of the two subscription boxes I pay for and love! If you missed my last post about the benefits subscribing to a green beauty box, you can check it out here. The first box I ever subscribed to (both conventionally and green beauty wise) was Art of Organics. I have been receiving the Art of Organic's monthly subscription box since June of 2016, which sounds crazy long to me now! I just started trying the two products from this month's box a few days ago, so this is more of a first impressions review (but I've never been disappointed with a box yet). To see past Art of Organic's boxes (which I found to be super helpful when first sorting through all of the different subscription box options on the market) you can click here.
October Box Run Down
This month's theme is protect, and it's all about creating protection from free radical damage while toning and brightening! The retail value of this month's box is $94, but with subscribtion it only costs $40.76 total (tax and shipping included). That means this box is worth more than double its cost, which is a win in my book! This subscription box ships out in the beginning of every month. For October's protect theme, 2 full sized products were included from Akar Skin and Ursa Major.
This toning mist has a retail value of $40. It's formulated to protect skin from free radicals while helping to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Although I can't yet attest to the results of this product, I can say that I enjoy it so far. The smell is something I neither like or dislike, its hard to explain. I can smell the rose, neroli and bark extract the most. The hydration it delivers from its finely sprayed mist is awesome- it instantly refreshes the skin! It can be used after cleansing and also after makeup to achieve that dewy look.
This Vitamin C serum from Ursa Major is a newly added product to their line. It was perfect timing for me, because I had been looking into purchasing another Vitamin C serum (which would have been super expensive) so I'm happy I waited. Vitamin C serums are meant to brighten the skin and from what I hear are game changers in the skincare regimen. This product retails for $54. It's texture is more creamy than your typical serum, but it's still very lightweight. The scent is fresh and citrusy, which I enjoy. It includes scorbutic acid polypeptides, an ingredient that tones, firms and brightens! Edelweiss, another ingredient found in this serum, is an anti-aging ingredient and protects the skin. My hopes are high for it to do life-changing things to my skin. Fingers crossed!
I am very pleased with this month's box and theme, and can't wait to give these products a full test run! If you are interested in trying out the subscription, you can use the promo code "AOLOVE10" for 10% off your first box! You can cancel at anytime, which was a selling point for me.
It's also worth mentioning that as a beauty subscriber to Art of Organics, you also receive 15% off when purchasing from their online store. So, if you find something in a box you love and want to repurchase it down the road, you'll be able to for 15% off!
