FREE LOVE BEAUTY| Organic Potions for that Gorgeous Cali Glow

Free Love Beauty is a brand I discovered early on in my nontoxic beauty journey. I first came across the Sunchild Illuminating Oil on IG, probably from another green beauty blogger, and had the idea to mix the oil in with my natural SPF. Before converting to nontoxic products, I used to love the Kate Somerville Body Glow Sunscreen- so I was trying to create my own "green" version of that product. It worked! I liked the versatility the oil offered and the glow it gave was so pretty! Fast forward to about two years later; I'm still loving Free Love Beauty and now consider Lauren (owner of FLB) to be a fellow green beauty lover and dear friend of mine. We instantly clicked over a few similarities we shared- we both used to be freelance makeup artists and we only live about 15 minutes from one another (although we have still yet to meet in person, we need to change that ASAP). Lauren's inspiration behind FLB is very endearing (read about her story here) and each of her items are curated in small batches with lots of love and intention! I'm sure you can guess by now, but this is going to be a rave review.

Illuminating Oils

I have enjoyed watching the range expand over the past couple of years! As mentioned above, Sunchild was the first oil I purchased from FLB. I now have two other oils, in the colors Wildchild & Lovechild. These oils are so versatile, which is why they're a staple in my everyday routine (makeup or no makeup). Wildchild is my absolute favorite to mix in with my facial moisturizer. I get asked often how I get my skin to look so glowy- this step is a must for glowy skin. I mix 2 drops in with my moisturizer regardless of whether I apply makeup over top or not. It just gives the skin such a healthy glow (without it looking shimmery) and also doubles as a makeup primer. Sunchild looks perfect mixed in with SPF for an all over golden, body shimmer. Lovechild is actually new to my collection, so I haven't played around with this oil too much yet. I envision doing a gorgeous glossy eye look with it though! I think it would also be gorgeous used as a bronzer. All of the oils can also be used as a highlighter on the high points of the face, as well as on the shoulders and d├ęcolletage area. The pictures below show FLB as a glowy base (with and without makeup) or as a highlighter on my cheeks.

Loose Mineral Dusts

I only own 2 of the dusts, but I really need to pick up more. They're uniquely formulated to mix in with the illuminating oils to create a customizable glow! They can also be used on their own (I think Nude Dust would be gorgeous on the eyes as a shadow). I would describe Nude Dust as a rose gold/bronze sheen. I also own the shade Glow Dust. This shade comes off as a pale gold with shimmer on my skin. There is a lot of dimension to this dust, so I think it will look different on everyone. You can see in the pictures below how the dusts look mixed in with the oils. Gorgeous pigment, nourishing ingredients for the skin and a customizable shade; what more could you ask for?

Quick Deets:

  • Easy, versatile products with high pigment payoff
  • Oil ingredients: organic rosehip oil rosa rubiginosa, organic grape seed oil vitis vinifera, mica, tocopherols (non-gmo)
  • Dust Ingredients: mica, kaolin clay. may contain: titanium dioxide, tin oxide
  • Ingredients are minimal & clean
  • Oils retail for $15 USD
  • Dusts retail for $14 USD (both price points are amazing, right)
  • You can purchase this brand on Etsy here
  • If you only pick up 1 item to try, I would say go with the Wildchild illuminating oil- It's the most versatile shade that will give you that glow from within look (but be warned, it'll make you want to try every other item from FLB)

I love finding a good quality, nontoxic (especially organic) small brand/business that I resonate with and can support! These products are always sourced with good ingredients and you can tell that FLB's intention is to produce good quality products that are unique and that make you feel beautiful. If you have any other ideas on how to use these products (I've given you four ways: shimmer sunscreen, glowy moisturizer. highlighter/bronzer and eyeshadow) please mention it in the comments below! I would love to see what creative ideas you've come up with.

Xx.
